Social Network is a local where a group of people communicate with each others. Each person has a profile that permit that his/her friends recognize him/her at the virtual world.

 

In this page, I will show the most popular social networks. I essentially use Facebook, Skype and Snapchat but the others are also so known that I thought it was important to show them.

Tumblr is a free social network that allows the users to share sentences, images, videos, links, audio, dialogues and quotes. It's possible to follow other users and see what they publish.

 

Vine

Twitter is a free online social network that enables users to send and read short messages called "tweets" (140 characters). In these tweets you can share sentences with your followers. It allows you to retweet tweets of people that you follow.

It was released by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger in 2010. Presently it has more than 300 millions users.

 

You can share the photos/videos that you publish on Instagram on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Flickr.

 

It's available on mobile devices and you can get it in App Store or in Google Play. You can also access it on a computer.

 

It was released in 2003 and belongs to Microsoft and now has more than 300 millions active users.

 

It's available in 27 languages and it's used in almost all countries.

Snapchat is a free social network that allows you to take pictures or record videos through the camera of your mobile phone and share with your friends (sending only to people that you want or publishing for everyone). Snap also allows sending text messages and photos from your gallery.

Vine is a kind of social network that allows you to record, edit, store, share and see videos. Each video has 6 seconds and you can share it with your friends.

Facebook is the biggest social network in the world. Currently, has over one million users.

It was released in 2004 and developed by Mark Zuckerberg and his four university partners of room.

It's free and allows you to keep yourself informed about your friends. If you want to share something with your friends (photos, videos, sentences, statements...) you can do it through Facebook.

Instagram is a free social network that allows you to share photos and small videos with your followers and also see the publications of people that you follow.

Skype is a kind of social network that enables the communication between friends anywhere. With it you can send messages, make voice calls and make video calls.

It was released in 2011 by Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy and Reggie Brown and nowadays has more than 100 millions active users.

 

It's available in 14 languages.

 

It's available only on mobile devices, so it's an app and you can acquire it in App Store or in Google Play.

It was founded in 2007 by David Karp and Marco Arment and it was developed by Thomas Muller and nowadays has more than 120 millions users.

 

It's available in 10 languages.

 

It's available on computer and on mobile devices (like tablets and smartphones), you can acquire it in App Store or in Google Play.

It was released in 2013 by Dom Hofmann, Rus Yusupov and Colin Kroll, exceeding 40 million users in the first year.

 

It's available in 25 languages.

 

It's available on mobile devices (like tablets and smartphones) and on computers.
