Apps

App is the abbreviation of an application. An app is a software designed to be installed in a mobile electronic device (smartphones, tablets...) through online stores such as the Google Play or the App Store. There are several apps that are free but some can be paid.
These applications have several purposes and allow users easier access.

 

In this page I will show you the apps I use and why I use them.

HiNative is a question and answer community for language learners and travellers.

 

It's available on the App Store and online for the computer (hinative.com).

Acer Life Image

Acer Life Image is an app that allows you to create a digital album.

It was developed by Acer and you only can acquire it if you have an Acer mobile device.

 

You can:

  • Insert photos,videos and texts; 

  • Define your album style;

  • Put photos captions, important dates and locations of memorable events;

  • Share your photo stories via Social Networks. 

 

With this you will create a digital album organized by dates and with the best moments of your life.
 

Gif Me! is an app that lets you make your own GIFs (moving pictures). It's the best way to create and share short videos in form of animated GIFs. It's easy: you catch a moment with the camera of your mobile device and share it in some social networks.

 

Functions:

  • Capture videos with a maximum of 14 seconds or smaller videos together and make a GIF with them;

  • Catch several fotos (maximium of 14) to make a GIF;

  • Send by email;

  • Edit the GIF's contrast, brightness, gamma and speed;

  • Apply an image filter and add a frame;

  • Add text (you can change the font and text colour).

 

Spotify

Spotify is a app of music that was launched in 2008 by Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon and it has more than 75 millions active users (20 millions paid). This app just works if you are connected with Internet and can also be used on computers (www.spotify.com).

 

You can:

  • Search your favourite musics through their titles, artists, albums, genres, playlists or record labels;

  • See the weekly top in the world or in several countries;

  • Make your own playlists;

  • Follow your favourite bands or singers;

  • Listen to radio;

  • With Premium subscription you can remove advertisements, improve audio quality and it allows users to download music for offline listening.

It's an app where you search for lyrics. It has a catalogue of more than 12.4 millions lyrics in 50 languages.

Functions:

  • Identify music;

  • Has access to "My Music" and lyrics of almost these songs;

  • Search for other songs and see the lyrics of them;

  • Listen to music on youtube or in a music player with synchronized lyrics (floatinglyrics)

  • Top 30 of songs;

  • The music and the lyrics keep on when your mobile phone is locked;

  • Has a karaoke version to "My Music".

iBooks is an e-book application that was released in 2010 by Apple Inc and you can acquire it only in App Store.The e-books of the app are available in 31 languages and they have the advantage of being cheaper than the books.

Functionalities:

  • Read e-books in several languages;

  • Read illustrated books (books for children, art, cooking...);

  • Listen the reading of a book aloud (children books);

  • Download a sample (the initial part of the book);

  • Mark the pages, create notes and highlight passages;

  • In iBooks Store you can search by title, author or genre. When you buy a book it automatically appears in the library of iBooks.

 

Wattpad ia writing community in which users are able to post articles, histories and poems, either online (www.wattpad.com) or through the mobile app.

This gives people the chance to have their creative works available to a wider audience.

The app includes work by known and unknown writers.

 

You can:

  • Comment and like stories;

  • Make part of a group;

  • Read;

  • Write.

 

The office lens is a pocket scanner.  You may make one important document scanner or notes that you need.

 

Functionalities:

  • Convert images into Word, PowerPoint, and PDF File;

  • In document mode the Office Lens cuts and colours the images perfectly;

  • In Whiteboard mode it cuts and cleans the glare and shadows;

  • When what you want to photograph isn't in a degree of 90º with the camera the app adjusts the image automatically.

Go to Aurasma Studio on Internet and...

  1. Choose an image;

  2. Associate one video to your image;

  3. Save the project (aura);

  4. Download the Aurasma app on your mobile device;

  5. Open the folder "My" and you choose one of the projects;

  6. The camera automatically opens;

  7. Aim the camera for the chosen image and the video beggins.
